Psalm 133:1-2 says, “Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity! It is the precious ointment upon the head, that ran down upon the head, that ran down upon the beard, even Aaron’s beard: that went down to the skirts of his garments.”
There is a blessing that comes from being together. There is a genuine power generated from corporate worship, corporate praise and corporate service. This is confirmed in the Word where it says that one can chase a thousand and two can put ten thousand to flight in the book of Deuteronomy. This started in the very beginning when God Himself said that it is not good that man should be alone. Simply put, we are better together.
This month we stand, as a body part of the Body and recognize with over 13,000 churches across the country to encourage people to come back to church. Not just back to the building, but back to the Body. It’s a day to get those who have left back into a family that is fueled by God’s love and covered in His Son’s blood. It’s a day to call those who have never been to church to a place that is safe, fun and alive. “National Back to Church” Sunday is a call to action, a call to invitation and a call to bring together those who love God, those who seek God, those who want God and those who question God. It’s a day to reclaim and revisit the Great Commission. Let us come together, go into the world, and bring the world to Christ
